Illustrated neighbor notices sent out today

 

The first phase of the planning application for the two-family house in Stabekk was sent out today. Neighbor notices with illustrations of the house were sent to 14 individuals around the site. The neighbors have two weeks to send in their comments before the rest of the application is sent to Bærum Kommune for approval. The house is within all of the regulations, covering 20% of site area, with a roof height of 7.5 meters over the average ground level. We lowered the height of the stair tower by making the last leg of the stair outside, this reduced the maximum height by approx 2 meters from the previous version.

 

Planning Applications are not usually the most talked about or published aspect of Architecture, but they are a fact of life and an important part of the building process. Once they are sent in, the documents are a part of the public-domain, so why not also post them on the web as a part of the process? The final documents will be sent in the first week in July and the planning department should grant approval or respond within 12 weeks time.
